I think we'll go on to lose to Ole Miss, Florida, Texas A&M, and Clemson. That's a 5-6 record. Hope it doesn't happen. This week's game against the Cats is probably more important to South Carolina than most fans are willing (or want) to admit. To me, it HUGE! We've got to beat Kensucky! Must win!
^^^ Sobering thoughts. Unfortunately probably true
Folk will just need to accept that we will never be anything other than a consistent 8-9 win team. And I will basically be done with football for this season. I'll go and tailgate, but won't give a hill of beans what happens on the field. That was the point I'd gotten to with baseball by end of April in 2017.
If we lose this year, it is because they are better...not sure that was case each of last 4...but they were probably better for at least 2 of them.
I will say this....in review, we just rolled vandy on the road...we have had some tight ones up there....road wins are hard in the sec. I don't like the match-up with UK because of our LB and safety play. I think we will have to score in the 30s.
Yes, you're probably right. I've had some great mentors that have tried to instill some PMA into me, but it just hasn't taken hold. I'm pretty sure the glass is half empty with my beloved Gamecocks right now. And a loss to the Cats will spill the rest. I like to think of myself as a realist, but I'm probably more a pessimist. Anyhow, I hope we win. Yes, yes...I'm sure we can win. See...I'm trying.
I wonder how many of these glass half empty (or less) folks have actually competed in any sport? Such an attitude guarantees that there will be more losses than wins and only get some wins because some others are even more pessimistic about their chances. The never give up guys will get you in the end because opportunities do happen and if you are not ready ( and the negative nellies are never ready), the opportunities to win might as well not exist.
Some secretly prefer to lose because of the pressure that winning brings with it.
