Fiction: Will Muschamp is a good head coach.
Reality: He failed at Florida where he had more resources and a better talent pool. He is clearly incapable of running anything other than a plodding, antiquated offense that gives you an opportunity to win games that matter.
Fiction: Your coaching staff is loaded with elite recruiters.
Reality: LoL
Fiction: There isn't a huge talent gap between S Carolina and Georgia/Clemson.
Reality: The gap is 10 miles wide and growing at an accelerating pace. Your only chance at signing elite players is if they are from South Carolina, and there just aren't enough of them in this state to keep up with your 2 biggest rivals. You want to see what elite recruiting looks like, look no further than Clemson and Georgia, especially Clemson. Georgia is loaded with blue chippers but even Kirby ain't stealing the #1 players from Ohio and Alabama like Dabo just did.
Fiction: You are the 2nd best team in the East.
Reality: You'll be lucky to finish 4th in the division this year, and even luckier to make a bowl game.
Fiction: You are capable of winning at Clemson this year. Reality: It's going to be 2016 all over again.
