Wow it's pretty sad when the Chickens are so looking for something to crow about they are celebrating and talking smack about a "Clothing Store" that has served this community and Clemson fans for 45 years! This shows you the difference in a Clemson fan and a SC fan!
The Knickerbocker bookstoore, at 354 College Ave, had served taters for 45 years, but now it's closing its doors for good.
The reasoning behind the closing is just speculation, but I'm sure this thread will be full of that.
Possible Reasons: - The demand for coloring books is WAY down. - Students now buy books for class online more frequently. - clemson History professors require the same books for 30 years, they can't find a new publisher who will keep the words, "War of Northern Aggression." - LOL, sure, like anybody can actually read there.
Who needs books when there are goats and sheep that need ‘general care’
Given the entire store was devoted to board books, it was only a matter of time, really...
Tax breaks for tater farmers must have been cut.
Im going to have to agree with MD on this one. Knickerbocker always sold clothing and other paraphernalia. I mean, really, does anyone think a bookstore could survive for 45 years in Clemson? They would only be catering to a handful of people.
A Cracker Barrel would be considered a bookstore in clemson, since it's got that spinning display of books on tape.
