What the pundits will say is because Clemson returns 8 starters on defense, and 7 starters on offense. They return their entire DL. They return their starting quarterback and a stable of solid running backs. They return 3 staring OLinemen. What they wont put out there is that Clemson didnt lose anyone off the coaching staff. There were 20 new coaching hires for the 2018, various assistants left for new jobs. Bama lost both their OC and DC. Venables gets a hefty raise, as Im sure did the other assistant coaches. A top 5 recruiting class to replinish and get valuable reps behind, and getting coaching from both the starters AND the coaches, this team has probably the most hype of a Clemson team in a LONG time. Now, live up to it.
