Today, LB Shaq Smith of Clemson made a decision to enter the transfer portal and probably leaving Clemson. Smith is scheduled to graduate this month, and move on to play his final two years of eligibility somewhere else. We wish him nothing but the best. Will always be a tiger, no matter where he goes.
This brings up a name, Phillip Webb, the #3 outside linebacker in the nation, and #5 player in the state of Georgia. The Lanier, GA, native is a 6-4 210 OLB with tons of offers. He received a Clemson offer in November 2018. Will Smith leaving open the door for this outstanding linebacker? Well, 247Sports seems to think so. Albeit early, 247sports has given him two crystal balls so far, both to Clemson. We've discussed "crystal balls" before by 247. Will be interesting to see if the interest is there.
