Coach Robbie Caldwell is going to welcome in 6 new offensive linemen in the 2020 class. It's not JUST 6 new offensive linemen, it's 6 offensive linemen that will come in and compete for reps. This is probably the best overall OL recruiting class that has ever entered Clemson. The list is impressive, both numbers wise and size wise. Below is the list of incoming offensive line freshmen:
OG - Mitchell Mayes 6-5 315 4-star 5th ranked at his position
OT - Walker Parks 6-5 253 4-star 5th ranked at his position
OT - Paul Tchio 6-5 299 4-star 3rd ranked at his position
OG - Bryn Tucker 6-5 290 4-star 9th ranked at his position
OT - John Williams 6-6 255 3-star 30th ranked at his position
OG - Trent Howard 6-3 260 3-star 73rd ranked at his position
Coach Todd Bates will welcome in a defensive line which might very well be the defensive line freshmen class to ever enter Clemson. This is not an exaggeration. Considering the #1 player in the nation, Bryan Bresee, will be making his home in Death Valley for at least the next 3 years. Bresee is a man child and we are all anxious to see how he does against college competition. Myles Murphy, 5-star DE out of Georgia, brings immense talent and size to the defensive line and will push for reps the day he sets foot on campus. Tre Williams and Demonte Capehart, both 4-star DTs are studs.
This list is more impressive than the offensive line class. Check them out:
DE - Myles Murphy 6-5 255 5-star #1 ranked SDE, #3in the nation
DT - Bryan Bresee 6-5 290 5-star #1 ranked DT, #1 in the nation
DT - Tre Williams. 6-2 306 4-star #8 ranked DT in the nation
DT - Demonte Capehart 6-4 284 4-star #2 ranked DT in the nation
Everyone knows the old saying "Games are won and lost in the trenches." It couldn't be more true. For years, Clemson always seemed to be lacking on the offensive line. Coach Robbie Caldwell came to Clemson and the offensive lines have improved every year. Here is another saying "Iron sharpens iron." When the incoming freshman offensive line goes against the incoming defensive line, they can't help but make each other better. Beware, ACC and others, Clemson is getting stronger in the trenches.
