Clemson vs #16 Louisville by the numbers

Coming off a heartbreaking loss at Miami, Brad Brownell and the Clemson men’s basketball team have a few days to regroup before heading up to Kentucky to take on the no.16 Louisville Cardinals. The Cardinals are riding a two game losing streak coming into this matchup with Clemson, dropping games against no.17 Florida State and no.2 Duke, where the Blue Devils would make a historic comeback against the Cardinals.

Clemson rode a four game winning streak before a late three pointer pulled the Hurricanes ahead by one point with a second left in regulation Wednesday night.

Coming into this matchup, the Cardinals average 78.2 points per game, 37.7 rebounds, 14.2 assists and are allowing their opponents on average to score 68.6 points a game.

Offensively, the Cardinals are led in points per game by Jordan Nwora, who scores on average 17.8 points per game. Christen Cunningham leads the team in assists, Cunningham has an average 5.0 assists per game and Steven Enoch has the highest field goal percentage on the team with a percentage of 57.2%.

Defensively, the Cardinals are led in rebounds per game by Jordan Nwora, who is averaging 7.8 rebounds per game. Dwayne Sutton leads the team in steals per game, Sutton averages 1.1 steals a game. Malik Williams averages 1.4 blocks a game.

Offensively and defensively, the Tigers are led by Elijah Thomas and Marquise Reed. The Tigers are led in points and assists per game by Marquise Reed, Reed averages 18.9 points per game and 3.1 assists. Elijah Thomas has the highest field goal percentage on the team with a percentage of 65.6%.

Elijah Thomas shines on the defensive side of the ball. Thomas leds the Tigers with rebounds and blocks per game. Thomas averages 7.8 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game. Marquise Reed leads with 2.0 steals per game.

When the Tigers conclude their game at Louisville, the Tigers will begin a week of home games against no.17 Florida State on Tuesday night at 9:00 p.m. and a Saturday matchup against Boston College at noon.
