And it continues.. the SC Fans discussing the ACC and not their OWN school in FB. Enjoy these C&P post from the Gamecocks complaining about Clemson and the ACC
In any playoff. That entire conference is beyond a joke, and the people who keep forcing, yes FORCING these sorry teams into the top 25 should be ashamed of themselves. I'll say it again, playing 2 or 3 decent to good teams per year is not enough.
Yes the 14th ranked team in the nation. Beyond ridiculous. Next up the highly ranked BC to be ripped.
Agree with you. Well said ! ACC is a joke
'Wake brought it all the way down the field with little to nothing left in the game. Awful defense by state, especially on that last play.
All we have to do is beat Clemson and they won’t
The taters will use this as an example of how tough it is to make it through the gauntlet known as the ACC. Gotta be ready every week... there's no patsies in the acc. LMAO
14th-ranked and playing at home on senior night... they wore all black and went down in ignominious defeat to lowly Wake Forest.
Fine to feel that way about the ACC but when Clemson is beating us worse than any other SEC opponent it doesnt really mean much to me how bad the rest of the ACC is.
Once that changes I'll go back to maybe caring about the rest of the ACC
How the mighty have fallen! It's so ACC to schedule a senior night game on a Thursday.
I do agree that the committee has force-placed several ACC teams into it's ranking only to somehow strengthen the perception of the taters schedule. Hell, if we pull off the upset in the swamp tomorrow, they'll probably have us ranked!
Again, just to support their agenda.
Syracuse is a pretty decent maybe top 25 team and Taters are Legit. But the rest are very soft.
So if the ACC shouldn't be in with a potentially undefeated team, who should? Other conferences with leading teams with a loss get in over them? I'll agree the ACC is down but its not like every other team has faced a gauntlet and their still suffering a loss. I'll preface this with clarifying that I'm not defending Clemson's schedule as being tough. I'm also not saying these teams mentioned are bad, just looking through their schedules.
Big 12
Oklahoma scraped by Army in OT, other than losing to 19 Texas they only good team they will only play is 9 WV. Same for WV, lost to Texas and only play 7 OU. 1, maybe 2 games each.
Big 10
Michigan close loss to 3 ND, beat now UR Wisconsin, 18 Mich St. and 20 Penn St. and will prob beat 10 OSU. 2-3 decent to good teams played plus whoever they play in the Big 10 title game might be decent.
OSU beat TCU who has fallen off, 20 PSU and was then killed by Purdue. They will play 4 Michigan to close the season. 1 -2 decent to good team faced on schedule
PAC 12
Washington State has beaten UR Oregon and UR Stanford and lost to UR USC. They'll play 25 Washington at end of season. 1, maybe 2 decent teams played?
SEC
Alabama has had had one "tough" game this year against a 7 LSU team and will get 1 legit game against 5 Georgia in the title game. A&M has fallen off but 16 MS is decent to make them have 2-3 decent to good teams faced. Its hard for me to include 24 Auburn in there with a loss to Tenn. but you can if you want plus rivalry and what not.
Georgia will play 1 Bama, but then are you really counting 15 FLA and 11 Kentucky as world beaters? They're top 25 teams but should not be that high, much like 13 Syracuse and 14 NC State are/were. I guess 2-3 decent to good teams faced or to be faced though Cuse and State would have to count on Clemson's schedule under that logic.
ND
Beat 4 Michigan, beat now UR Stanford and UR VT, scraped by Pitt and Vandy. 1 good team faced. Will play 13 Syracuse to make 2 decent to good teams.
UCF (since they're undefeated why not)
Notable wins are Pitt and Memphis and will play UR USF.....enough said
All this to say everyone is only playing 2-3 decent to good teams each year. Some even less. Who would you put in over an undefeated Clemson?
