The 2020 class is not even finished yet, and offers for the 2021 class have started going out. Clemson held the first of their camp this week and several 2021 prospects received offers. Getting an offer from Clemson is a big deal.
Clemson is totally unlike most universities when it comes to giving out an offer to a prospective athlete. For example, in the 2020 recruiting world, Tennessee has given out 434 offers to play football. 434 offers. At this point, you'd have to ask yourself, why, why so many. They give out offers like Santa Claus throwing out candy during a Christmas parade. Tennessee is not the only school that does this.

To say it means something more to get an offer from Clemson is an understatement. When schools are throwing out 200+ offers in a year means many of them are NOT commit-able offers. If you've watched the NFL draft, you've seen they have a draft board with option 1, option 1A, and it goes from there. It's not different in college football. There are priority players at each position. The coaches have their depth charts, look at graduations, class depths, and decide where the biggest needs are from year to year. Coach Swinney and his staff just do it different. They recruit kids based on many factors, and one of the least important factors are "star ratings" given by recruiting sites. Character and attitude are two tributes highly coveted by Clemson. Is Clemson getting a host of 5-stars this year going away from the "Clemson way of recruiting?" I would say no, not only are these kids 5-star players, they are 5-star quality men. Getting a Clemson offer just means more.
